Recommended Scout Equipment for Camping

Required:
Complete Scout Uniform (Wear it!)
Tent (backpack style)
Backpack (sturdy frame)
Sturdy boots (no Crocks)
Sneakers (as backup footwear)
ONE change of clothing
TWO pairs of socks
Handkerchief
Flashlight (with good batteries)
Water bottle or Camelback
Eating utensils (knife, fork, spoon, cup, plate)
Scout Handbook
Pad and pencil
Sleeping bag in stuff sack
Ground cloth
Personal first-aid kit
Rain Poncho
Jacket or sweater (as needed by season)
Thermal underwear (in season)
Personal care equipment:Wash cloth
Towel
Soap
Comb or brush
Toothbrush & toothpaste
Small roll toilet paper
Suggested essentials for back-country travel:
25 feet of small rope or nylon cord
Emergency rations (snack & breakfast bars)
Pocket knife
Inexpensive reflective blanket
Whistle or signaling device
Extra flashlight batteries
Compass
Extra sweater
Small cooking kit & backpack stove
